This is a special plea to our local, state, and national lawmakers on behalf of all Schedule-C Business Owners across the United States and right here at home in Minnesota!
Dear Lawmakers,
I am writing on behalf of my clients – Small Business Owners (independent workers) – most of which file their taxes on a Schedule C. Schedule C business owners do not pay into unemployment for themselves, and the unemployment office will not help.
With so many people staying at home and so many businesses closed, my clients have no income coming in. These businesses would include the following: hair stylists, independent medical & healthcare clinics (chiropractors, physical therapists, audiologists), marketing & social media managers, design professionals, writers, home remodelers, surveyors, photographers, and real estate professionals and more!
Approximately, 99% of my clients are going to be at zero income with no unemployment help for them, and I’m not alone in this assessment. Several will be applying for the SBA loan, but there are some who will not qualify and some who will have no choice but to close their doors for good.
My ask is for help for all Schedule C taxpayers, and I hope you’re listening closely. This is proportionately one of the largest workforce segments in the U. S. today, and they need your help.
Sincerely,
Susie Jose, owner
